Manufacturing experts at the Coventry-based Manufacturing Technology Centre are to hold a free event aimed at giving small- and medium-sized companies practical advice to improve their productivity.
The Future of Technology event at the MTC on Tuesday, November 19 is aimed specifically at SMEs and will be made up of interactive workshops showcasing the technologies and advanced processes available to improve productivity and meet the manufacturing challenges of the future.
The programme of workshops will include Digital Manufacturing, de-mystifying industrial digitalisation and explaining the support available from the MTC, Additive Manufacturing, one of the fastest growing advances in manufacturing processes which can reduce cost, improve quality and reduce time to market. The MTC is home to the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing.
Workshops will also cover Robotics and Automation, Skills and Training and productivity improvement programmes delivered by the MTC’s Manufacturing Support Services team.
Dean Baker, director of the MSS team, said the event would help SMEs understand the technology and processes available to help them improve their productivity, costs and delivery performance.
“The range of advice, equipment and tools available to manufacturing businesses can be baffling. This event aims to give practical, independent advice to SMEs to help them through technological, business and cultural change,” he said.
The event, at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre, is free to attend but places are limited so registration is vital. Those interested should visit www.the-mtc.org/event-items/future-of-manufacturin…
